Phaenom FR 02 130The fr 02 130 freeride boot is engineered for advanced riders who demand uncompromising downhill performance. It features TPU+, a new temperature-stable 130 flex for a consistent feel in all conditions, a 100 mm last, and a hybrid cabrio/overlap construction. The result is precision and control on steep, technical terrain. The reshaped lower-shell opening and higher instep improve initial fit and control, creating a responsive, confident connection to the mountain. First-fit features, including the Easy Entry System, tongue leash, and flap/tongue link, make on/off effortless. The boot pairs with the fr 02 liner, which uses a new walk-mode flex zone and Perfora™ foam for breathability, lower weight, and lasting comfort. The Phaenom Strap enhances rebound, shock absorption, and flex control for decisive turn initiation and stability. The fr 02 130 blends high-performance precision with repairability and sustainability.

Shell (see detail images)1) Upper cuff: The overlap construction of the upper cuff is shaped to wrap around the lower leg, ensuring a close fit and exceptional transmission of energy / power to the skis.
2) Shell tongue: The lower-cut tongue is designed to have three key benefits: it allows for easier entry than a traditional overlap boot; it protects the open area above the foot in a way that doesn’t collapse the toe box; and it helps absorb shock for a smooth ride in all conditions.
3) Lower shell: The lower shell is engineered to secure the foot while maximizing comfort. A mid-volume toe box keeps feet warm and relaxed through long days on the mountain, while the heel pocket isshaped to lock the heel in place, prevent unwanted movement, and transfer energy directly to the skis.
4) Interchangeable spoilers: Our spoilers are customizable to ensure ergonomic and precise calf hold as well as the preferred forward lean.
5) Phaenom strap: The phaenom strap provides rebound, shock absorption and exceptional flex control from a single recyclable material.
6) Adjustable forward lean: The boots come with three different inserts—called flip chips—that allow forward lean angles of 13°, 15° and 17°. The factory setting is 15°. The flip chips may be swapped manually with ease.
7) Walk mechanism and tech inserts: Flip the bar up for touring mode. Flip the bar down and lock into place for ski mode. Our fr models feature tech inserts that are compatible with touring bindings.
Liner (see detail images)
1) Tongue Leash: The tongue leash provides a secure shell-to-liner connection for quick, one-handed handling.
2) Quick lacing: Our liners are available with optional laces that secure the fit for a tighter, more responsive feel while riding and touring.
3) Calf stabilizer: The TPU plastic placed meticulously around the calf and shin area redistributes pressure to eliminate “hot spots.” The added support also helps to get a better feel for the snow.
4) Flex zone: Flex Zone is an integrated rear panel engineered to enhance mobility on ascents. Positioned at the back of the liner, it increases range of motion for more natural, efficient touring while maintaining consistent support on the descent.
5) Light EVA sole: The lightweight full EVA sole minimizes weight while enhancing comfort and energy transfer for freeride performance. Its responsive build ensures efficient transmission on the descent while reducing fatigue on long approaches and ascents. Purpose-built for touring efficiency without compromising downhill capability.
